Diversity at Camp
Camp CenterStage (CCS) believes that all youngsters with a desire to attend summer camp should be provided a camping opportunity. CCS is welcoming of all campers is open to all campers. One of our core values is to provide a welcoming, nurturing and supportive environment for all campers who have a desire to use their artistic skills to enrich our community and our lives. We make every effort and work with all parents to provide a comfortable place for all campers.
Our online registration system is organized to show separate registration programs for boys and girls. For reasons of facilities, staffing, sleeping arrangements and being able to meet the needs of all our campers, the CSS Leadership Team needs to have a firm idea of how many male and female campers are registered. Our campus is divided into cabins for boys (with male counselors and CITs) and cabins for girls (with female counselors and CITs). When registering your camper, please register them in the "boys" or "girls" program based on what member of staff they will be most comfortable being placed with, and then get in touch with the Leadership Team to help make arrangements that fit your child's needs.

Some of the things we do at camp to encourage diversity are:
- We regularly adapt our program to fit the needs of all campers, and believe in fully integrating all campers into our cabin groups, teams and mentor groups.
- We provide for specialized diets, whether for reasons of allergy, religious, or lifestyle choice (vegetarian / vegan).
- We provide private changing spaces for shy campers (these spaces are not available in all cabins, so please let us know if your camper would be more comfortable with private space).
- We offer multiple workshop electives every day and campers have many choices regarding their learning and camping experiences.
- We include all campers in our Mentor program which provides roundtable discussions.
- We strive to have a diverse staff team, and include diversity training as a core element each summer.
