CCS At-A-Glance

~ CCS is a sleep-away performing arts-based camp for ages 7-17.
~ We're located in Livermore, Maine (1 hour north of Portland) and on the west shore of Maui.
~ Our Leadership Program is available for ages 16-18.
~ We feature a Community Enrichment program at our Maine campus.
~ Our campers come from all of the country, with many coming from New England and New York.
~ We have needs-based scholarships available.
~ Our leadership team has been running overnight camps for about 20 years.
~ Camp Centerstage (CCS) has been operating for about 10 years.
~ We have a Nurse on site at all times.
~ Our ratio of staff to campers is about 1:3.

Our "Why"

Every young person deserves the opportunity to discover and explore all their talents and let their inner star shine!

"CCS combines the classic summer camp experience with the performing arts to create an environment that helps teach not just how to be a great team player and community member, but helps harbor a healthy individual character and identity."
~ Aidan, 9 year camper and CIT

"CCS put me out of my comfort zone in a positive, supportive way and has impacted my life outside of camp more than any “self-help” book could have. I have gained confidence and a sense of leadership that has helped me in my professional life."
~ Cori, 9 year counselor & staff

Leadership Programs

Camp CenterStage features unique leadership opportunities, including our
Counselor in Training (CIT) and Leaders in Training (LIT)

Our CIT Program is designed to offer qualified young people (ages 16 – 18) opportunities to prepare for positions at camp as counselors and leaders. Emphasis is placed on developing leadership skills, sensitivity to children, program design, child development, best practices and environmental stewardship. CITs must apply for this competitive position and are given the opportunity to assist in supervising a cabin.

Our LIT Program is designed to enhance interpersonal and communication skills while fostering independence and self-awareness. Service is an important part of the LIT program – whether it be service to the camp program or to our community. Under their mentor’s guidance, LITs focus on leadership, teamwork, creating personal challenges and goals while becoming better prepared to be future leaders in their communities. LITs must be a minimum of 16 years old and usually have one year experience as a CIT or some other leadership capacity.

Community Enrichment Program

“Service Above Self” perfectly describes CCS’s Community Enrichment Program.

We affectionately refer to it as our Can Do Attitude program or the “CCS CDA”. Every session and every summer brings new opportunities for our campers and staff to provide service to our community. Through visiting the elderly, planting a garden, hosting developmentally delayed adults, coordinating “person on the street” interviews, making blankets for shelters and many other projects, CCS campers learn the importance and value of performing one unbargaining act of service every day.
