alexis dascoulias, camp director

alexis dascouliasstaff leadership imageAlexis earned her bachelor's degree in theater education from the University of New Hampshire. She served as the head of the drama department at Dover High School and was one of the founders of Cocheco Arts and Technology Academy. She has directed, taught, produced and performed with the Bell Center, Hackmatack Playhouse, Seaglass Performing Arts, Garrison Players, Peacock Players, SRT, Piscataqua Youth Players, the Mill Pond Center, and the Maui Academy of Performing Arts. Currently, Alexis is the Executive Director for Maui Onstage at the historic Iao Theater in Maui, Hawaii. She brings over 10 years experience as a Camp Director to Camp CenterStage.

jeffrey elwood, assistant camp director

jeffrey elwoodJeffrey brings with him a diverse background working with young people in the areas of music, theatre and sports. A resident of Portsmouth and a graduate of SUNY, he has over 7 years experience directing youth theatre around the NH Seacoast, including serving as a director at summer camps. Jeffrey was one of the founders of Cocheco Arts and Technology Academy, and is the Director of the Christ Church Youth Theatre Program. His passion is to encourage young people to identify their gifts and passion and reach their potential. He enjoys playing the drums and woodwinds, coaching soccer & softball, and is looking forward to his 10th year as a summer camp Director!

steven dascoulias, activities director

steven dascouliasSteven studied voice and musical theater at Boston Conservatory of Music and has appeared as an actor at theaters from Maine to Maui. He received the "Seacoast Spotlight on the Arts Award" for "Best Actor in a Musical" for his portrayal of Albin in "La Cage Aux Folles", and "Best Actor in a Play" for his role as Lenny in "Rumors". A member of Actor's Equity Association, Steven has performed for The Lyric Stage Company in Boston, Stoneham Theater, Seacoast Repertory Theater, Hackmatack Playhouse, and Maui Onstage. This is Steven's 8th summer working as a senior staff member for summer camp.



kathy fink, music director

kathy finkKathy has worked at many area theaters, serving as both pianist and musical director. She teaches all levels & styles of piano, leads the Fourth Street Jazz Choir, and serves as musical director for St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Dover, NH. Kathy has a BA in Piano Performance and an MA in Music History from UNH. Her career as an accompanist began at the age of 9 with the 4th grade chorus in Leeds, England; she accompanied her first full-length musical at age 15. Kathy has also worked as pianist and musical director at the Bell Center, Hackmatack Playhouse, SRT, Prescott Park, the Palace Theatre, the Firehouse Center, Maui on Stage, the American Stage Festival, Garrison Players, Rochester Opera House, and many more. In addition to her theatre work, Kathy has accompanied soloists, community choirs, and chamber music groups, and performs for weddings, parties, funerals, recitals and recording sessions. You may also recognize her as the keyboardist from the local band, Crossfire, in which she played from 1979-1988. Kathy lives in Dover, NH with her husband Greg, her son Gabe, and her beagle Cookie. brian swasey, dance director

brian swaseyBrian studied musical theatre and dance at the University of New Hampshire. He is originally from South Portland, Maine, and currently lives in New Jersey. He moved to New York City in 1995 where he worked as an actor, performing in such shows as Ragtime, Into the Woods, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Crazy For You, Peter Pan, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, and West Side Story. As a director and choreographer, Brian has staged many shows including Altar Boyz, Sweeney Todd, Lucky Stiff, Footloose, A New Brain, A Chorus Line, The Wild Party, Seussical, and Godspell. He is the founding Artistic Director of the Astoria Performing Arts Center, and is currently working as an Assistant Producer for Queens Theatre in the Park. lisa forsley, Visual Arts Director

lisa forsleyLisa, mother of four, is currently a Certified Art Specialist in NH and Massachusetts, and has been an arts educator for over 12 years. She is "Early Childhood" certified in NH, and holds a BA in Art as well as a Masters in Education from the University of Lowell. Lisa has been a Costume Designer for the past 10 years at many theaters throughout NH, Maine and Massachusetts, has served a theatre board for 8 years, and has a passion for all forms of arts. This will be Lisa's 8th year as a camp director.


shay willard, media coordinator

shay willardShay is an award-winning filmmaker from New Hampshire. He has worked at several youth theater camps and is very excited to be coordinating and teaching media courses at Camp CenterStage! Shay studied at Ithaca College and spent time working in the commercial industry in Los Angeles. Shay is currently teaching and working towards his Masters degree at Ohio University.



anna visciano, outreach director

anna viscianoAnna is a 2008 UNH graduate, Volunteer Travel Consultant for Travellers Worldwide, and a drama/musical theater enthusiast and veteran. She has served as a Theatre Camp Counselor and Director of Children's drama camps in the seacoast area. She's excited to jump into her new role as "Outreach Director" at CCS. Her recent world travels will provide inspiration for activities that she is planning to bring to Camp CenterStage campers this year!



Susan Battye, Communications Director

Susan BattyeSusan will be taking on the role as our camp's Communications Director. Susan currently works as a consultant specializing in marketing, media relations and communication. She has trained children and adults in leadership and coaching skills for over a decade. She currently directs a school-based elementary theater program near Washington D.C. and is thrilled to be on the CCS staff!



John Battye, Mentoring Coach

John BattyeJohn will be our camp's Mentoring Coach where he will facilitate our Mentoring Leadership Program. He is currently an elementary educator in Maryland and has been a joyful teacher for 18 years. He holds a BA in English as well as a Masters in Education. John has also been a leadership educator of children and adults for the past five years, specializing in the areas of communication, rapport-building, and goal setting. He is very excited to be joining the inspiring team at Camp CenterStage.

carla murphyCarla is a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in both New Hampshire and Maine with over 20 years nursing experience. This is carla's 7th year as a camp nurse and is excited to be a part of this new adventure. Carla's philosophy is to "put the needs of the camper's first".

Jennifer Sue Mallard, Lead Counselor / CIT Mentor

Jennifer MallardJennifer has been performing and working regionally for over 15 years, including Off-Broadway NYC at the Theater at Saint Clements as Yitzhak in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and with the New York Musical Theater Festival. Jennifer has directed and choreographed numerous shows around New England and has been working with children and young adults for over 5 years now as a theater teacher, camp counselor and a private acting coach. Some companies include The Seacoast Repertory's PAPA Camp, Peacock Players, 21st Century Program after school instructor, Acting Loft, Phoenix Academy, and now Camp CenterStage! She loves sharing and teaching her craft and has an extreme passion and love for the arts. Jennifer is glad to be a part of something new and to have the opportunity to help the campers discover themselves, help them grow, and give them the tools to help perfect their skills in what they love.

Laura Cole

Laura ColeLaura is thrilled to be a counselor at Camp CenterStage! Born and raised in New Hampshire, she is a Plymouth State University alum with a degree in musical theatre. Favorite shows include: "Bonnie" in ANYTHING GOES; "Angel Four Alto" in CITY OF ANGELS; "The Wardrobe" in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST; and a "Hot Box Girl/General Cartwright" in GUYS AND DOLLS. She has also toured Vietnam with the PSU Chamber Singers and performed with the Vietnam Opera & Ballet in Hanoi. Laura recently completed a year long tour with Missoula Children's Theatre, performing in, and directing, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, PINOCCHIO, and THE FROG PRINCE. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their love, support, and encouragement, and to the Dascoulias family and Jeffrey for having her back this summer!

Peter Lajoie

Peter LajoiePeter is a Digital Filmmaking student at the New England Institute of Art in Brookline, MA. There, he has been a writer, a director, an actor, a grip, a camera operator, a producer, an editor, and a humble production assistant in various short films and music videos. Peter's theatre acting credits include the Cheshire Cat in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, Demetrius in MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, and Orpheus and others in METAMORPHOSES. Peter has also taken part in other experimental pieces such as a movement piece based on the works of Francisco de Goya. Peter just completed the COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE ABRIDGED playing the part of Adam Long. Peter is excited to spread the joy of the creative arts to the CCS campers.

Abby Steward

Abby StewardAbby is a sophomore at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, where she studies art and creative writing. She has always loved theater and was in many Shakespearian plays in high school. In college, she worked with an inter-generational theater company, performing in a retirement home in her community. After being a camper and Counselor In Training at CenterStage for four years she is delighted to come back as a counselor. She loves reading outside in the sun and every kind of music and ice cream, and knows all the words to the The Circle Game from all the campfire singalongs.

Kelley Plante

Kelley PlanteKelley is very excited to be a counselor at Camp CenterStage this summer! She loves performing and the arts, and is thrilled to be able to share her passions with the campers! Kelley has been dancing with Brixham Dance Works for 14 years and is a member of the studio's Senior Repertory Performing Company. She has studied and performed various styles of dance, including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, modern, and lyrical. Kelley has also performed in a various choral groups around the Seacoast area, including the New Hampshire Youth Chorus. Kelley plays guitar and ukelele, and performs at coffee houses, open mics, and in band gigs around the Seacoast area as well. In the fall, she will be attending Drexel University and studying Music Industry in hopes of becoming a producer.

Cori Thomson

Cori ThomsonCori is currently in school for her degree in Medical Information Technology and recently passed her national exams to be a Certified Professional Coder. Although her theatrical background is less diverse then some, she has worked on the technical crew for local productions of A Christmas Carol, Cabaret, My Son Pinocchio, and Cinderella. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her years as a Boy Scout and volunteer for her old troop. With her summers spent on the rivers and lakes of New Hampshire and Maine, she is experienced with canoeing and kayaking as well as the more rustic way of camping. Cori is proud to have been a part of CCS's inaugural year and is delighted to take part in the second year of this amazing experience.

Victoria Ernst

Victoria ErnstTori is a 2nd year counselor at CCS and is so thrilled and excited to be back! She is currently studying to get her BFA in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. Since her arrival at Marymount she has been featured in Marymount's productions, The Kindertransport, Electra, and The Rook. Tori has taught acting to students at The Open Stage of Harrisburg. Tori also loves music and singing and appreciates the connection that all of the arts have to each other. She can't wait to be back at CCS by the campfire this summer and is ready to have another summer of fun!

Camden Munson

Camden MunsonCamden has been an actor since he was four years old. Some of his favorite shows included "The Little Prince", "Les Miserables", and "Godspell". Although he has gone on to prepare for medical school by studying biology at Grove City College, Camden still loves theater, and most recently participated in the college's children's theater production of "Lyle the Crocodile". Camden is very excited to return to Camp CenterStage this summer as a counselor and lifeguard!

Adele Jones

Adele JonesAdele is so excited for her first year as a Camp CenterStage counselor! She has been dancing since age 3, and in theatrical productions since age 6. In high school, she performed on national television as part of the Mike Miller Dance Team in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Adele will be a sophomore at UNH, majoring in Theatre/Dance and Psychology with Honors, and a minor in Sociology. She teaches ballet, tap and jazz at a local dance studio and has been choreographing youth theatrical productions for several years. She loves theatre, dance and working with children and is looking forward to a future that combines all of those interests.

Katie Rondeau

Katie RondeauKatie is a New York-based actress, moving to the big apple from New Hampshire in 2007 after earning her BA in Musical Theatre from Plymouth State University. Some favorite roles include Laura in the National Tour of Laura Ingalls Wilder, Mayzie (Seussical), Anybodys (Westside Story), Little Sally (Urinetown), Lulu (Cabaret), Sarah Brown (Guys and Dolls), and the role of camp counselor which she has played at various theatre camps for over 12 years! Katie looks forward to seeing old and new friends, getting back to Crescent Lake, and singing some "repeat after me" songs!

Alex Dorr

Alex DorrAlex is thrilled to be returning to the amazing Camp Center Stage! Alex currently resides in New York City where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting at Marymount Manhattan College. He can't wait to be back at CCS to share his knowledge and passion for theater and dance with all the campers, and to take in the starry nights!

Emily Allen

Emily AllenEmily is so excited to be a counselor at CCS this year! She has enjoyed being a camp conselor in the past and is looking forward wait to having fun and being creative with the campers. Emily has enjoyed theater during her school days, and although is not currently involved with theater herself, she enjoys watching the performing arts and looks forward to learning more! Emily recently graduated as a registered nurse and looks forward to starting a new job at the Women and Children's Center at Wentworth Douglass Hospital.
